Fitness Director – Boston Area

As the Fitness Director, you will play a pivotal role in promoting health and wellness within their organization and be responsible for overseeing the fitness operations, developing and implementing fitness programs, as well as managing a team of fitness professionals. You will collaborate with the management team to ensure the delivery of high-quality fitness services that align with our client’s mission and values. Your role will also involve creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where members feel a sense of belonging and joyfulness.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall operations of the fitness department, including staffing, budgeting, and program development
  • Develop and implement fitness programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of JCC Greater Boston members
  • Supervise and support a team of fitness professionals, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Oversee Group Fitness, Pilates, Personal Training, Small Group Training and new member onboarding
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective coordination of resources and programming

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of fitness management experience. Personnel management and supervision experience required. Personal Training background and experience are also required.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
  • Exceptional knowledge of fitness programming and exercise techniques
  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sports Management, or a national Personal Training certificate from an accredited organization required. Preferably: ACE (American Council on Exercise), ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), and/or AFFA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America)

Base Compensation: $75k, plus upside, and a comprehensive benefits package!
